Mon cuisine is one of Myanmar’s oldest culinary traditions, especially well-known in Mon State and among Mon communities.

Mon Desserts
As full moon day hold a special place in Mon people’s both religious and cultural beliefs. Therefore, on every full day, they wake up early and offers these Mon desserts and snacks to the monk. At night, they visit geriatricians and bring these desserts for them. This tradition is often embraced by Mon people.







Mon curry with dried Marian fruit is a traditional dish made by simmering fish or prawns with spices and dried Marian fruit, adding a mild sourness and earthy flavor to the rich curry.

Mon curry with elephant fruit is a traditional dish made with fish, spices, and sour elephant apple, giving it a rich and tangy flavor.

Kabalouk curry is one of signature curry among Mon people because it can rarely see from another regions except Mon State.
Mon Style Salad

Mon Centella Salad is unique because it features fresh, slightly bitter centalla leaves combined with tangy lime, spicy chilies, and sometimes savory fish, creating a refreshing and nutritious flavor blend
Mon Papaya Salad is an exceptional salad that made with shredded green papaya, mixed with garlic, chilies, fish paste and dried marian. It is different from Thai version papaya salad.
